By José Rojas

There is a company called Agropecuaria Santa Genoveva, S.A.P.I. de C.V. located in San Francisco, Campeche Mexico, initially dedicated to the development of livestock and agricultural production until 2011, this company recently placed shares in the Mexican Stock Exchange, in order to obtain resources to start three large projects of exploitation of Caoba, Cedro and Ceiba in the states of Campeche, Tabasco and Chiapas.

They currently have more than 35 thousand hectares of virgin forest With trees over 400 years old with a height of 30 to 50 meters, these three projects inhabit endangered species such as: The Jaguar, Toucan, Quetzal, Anteater, Spider Monkey, Howler Monkey, Armadillo, Ocelot and other species of mammals, insects and birds, as well as minor species of plants.

The gravity and damage to the species, is beginning with the opening of gaps and roads, where heavy machinery is altering the jungle, to later loot its precious woods.

For the Mayans, the Ceiba was considered the tree of life and was sacred, since they observed that not even the strongest hurricanes or storms could damage or destroy it, something that is about to end by man and this company.

The study of environmental impact and ecological damage that they presented to the state authorities of Campeche, Tabasco and Chiapas, with the authorization of SAGARPA, was to select those trees with more than 80 years of life and replace them with others that are planted in their fields. greenhouses, but whose age is less than a year and the time in which they will develop their height and foliage will take hundreds of years.

This Mexican company has its headquarters in Bosque de Alisos 45B, Primer Piso, Col. Bosques de las Lomas, Cuajimalpa Delegation, C.P. 05120, in Mexico D.F. under the name of COTAMSA, who were previously the owners of the Technological University of Mexico (UNITEC). Tel. 9177-9300.

One of the three projects is located within the Palenque area, Chiapas, where there are vestiges of the Mayan culture and it is considered the main biosphere in the Mexican southeast.

Recently they are designing security plans to fence the 35 thousand hectares and install private security forces that prevent the passage and entry of people to these areas and prevent their logging and deforestation activities from being known.

The government of the current president of Mexico, Lic. Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, with the authorization to log these 35 thousand hectares is not complying with the Kyoto protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and therefore an explanation is necessary of what is happening in this region of the Mexican southeast and of which has not been made known to the national and international media.

In this region there are more than 100 species of animals in danger of extinction and it will take hundreds of years for this jungle to recover.

This event can cause global climate change and can be avoided with the help of all environmentalists. Let's do it for the living beings that inhabit this region (plants and animals). Let us spread and avoid this criminal act, if the authorities of our country do not do so, let us seek help from the UN or other environmental organizations in the world.

Let's save those living beings that cannot do it, for the good of the planet.
